Introduction
2024-07-29 --- 2024-08-09
Flew from Shanghai to Urumqi, rented a car, and began the Yili loop. Over ten days, I drove about 2,000 km. Yili is the most beautiful place I've ever been to, no exaggeration.
1. Urumqi
07-29
I've been driving a small car since I got my driver's license, and I never really drove an SUV before. At first, I wasn't used to it, but after getting used to it, I found driving a big car much more comfortable.
Hand-pulled rice, so delicious, can't stop eating. Xinjiang cuisine is really good.
2. Dushanzi Grand Canyon
07-30
3. Sayram Lake
07-31
The weather wasn't great, it was cloudy. For someone who grew up by the sea, I don't usually feel much when I see a lake, but Sayram Lake is really beautiful.
4. Guozigou Bridge
07-31
After Sayram Lake, we passed through Guozigou Bridge. There are many sharp turns, and parking on the side of the road is prohibited, so I could only take a few photos through the car window. After exiting the tunnel, we directly went up the bridge, and the endless mountains gave a sense of vastness.
5. Kalajun Grassland
08-01
It looks just like the Windows XP desktop.
6. Tekes Bagua City
08-02
This place is very unique. There are no traffic lights, and the city's layout follows the structure of the Bagua (Eight Trigrams). The street names are Qian Street, Dui Street, Kun Street, Li Street, Xun Street, Zhen Street, Gen Street, and Kan Street, with Li Street being the most famous.
At a shop on Li Street, there was an alpaca with its fur shaved into the shape of a camel, and it spat at me when I got closer.
7. Xiata Forest Park
08-03
River in the middle, forest on the right, grassland on the left, and snow-capped mountains in the distance.
8. Tangbula Hundred-Mile Gallery
08-05
I didn’t have high expectations for this place, thinking it was just a free scenic area. But when I went, I realized that the free ones are often the best. Few people, few cars, and while driving along the mountain road with Xu Wei's songs playing, it felt perfect.
9. Conclusion
08-09
This is the most satisfying trip I’ve ever had. I will be back.
